Flow Based Water Leak Detection Systems

Our flow-based water leak detection and shut-off systems work by monitoring both the volume and amount of time water is moving through pipes, using a flow meter and comparing against set thresholds. When abnormal flow is detected, due to a burst or faulty pipe, the valve automatically closes, shutting off the water and therefore minimising the extent of the damage. Systems also trigger an alarm or notification to alert users or a central Building Management System to the issue. Our flow-based systems meet the ‘Escape of Water’ requirements of the policy clauses of many insurance providers. Our flow-based systems can be found below.

AquaSmart

Intelligent Flow based water leak detector and shut-off device
  • A smart, machine-learning water leak detection and protection device
  • Monitors the volume and time water passes through a pipe, comparing against thresholds that are ‘learned’ based on typical water usage
  • When a threshold is exceeded, a solenoid valve automatically close and shuts off the water supply, minimising damage
  • Operated using Flow Reporter cloud-based software, accessible from any connected device
  • Flow Reporter also enables remote valve control and text/email alert notifications for multiple users
  • Offline mode enables device to operate even wen not connected to the internet
  • Can be integrated with Splash contact sensors to provide additional levels of protection
  • Monitors real-time, daily and monthly water consumption, helping users improve water efficiency, identify problems and save money
  • Suitable for multiple applications, including both residential and commercial property types
  • Mains-powered; battery back-up, WiFi and 3G options available
  • WRAS-approved

AquaGuard

COST EFFECTIVE flow based water leak detector and shut-off device
  • A highly cost-effective water leak detection and protection device
  • Monitors the volume and time water passes through a pipe, comparing against adjustable thresholds to identify excessive and unexpected flow
  • When a threshold is exceeded, a solenoid valve automatically close and shuts off the water supply, minimising damage
  • ‘Holiday’ mode where water is automatically shut off after a pre-set period of time if no flow is detected
  • Allows for flexibility around different users’ varying water usage and can be manually over-ridden when necessary
  • Most suitable for new build or retrofit residential property, ranging from individual houses through to multi-apartment blocks (typically one device per apartment)
  • The combined flow meter and valve is installed on the cold-water pipe, just after the stopcock
  • Battery or mains-powered options available
  • WRAS-approved
